New Planet of the apes movie

Really enjoyed the new ones in the franchise, they're quality films.

My partner still hasn't seen most of them though, so I'll have to get her caught up before I watch it.

Andy Serkis is incredible.

I saw the trailer and was impressed by the special effects and costume and make up quality compared to previous PotA movies-- I'll be making a point of watching it.

No I wouldn’t say so. It references the past - Caesar etc so you will understand what happened but this is basically the beginning of the new franchise. It’s 2 hours and 20 minutes but doesn’t feel it.

It seems to be getting mixed reviews but I really enjoyed it and think most people will.

I know what you mean, I thought some of the humans in the film didn't look real. ;)

I have always liked the PotA movies and religiously watched the TV series.
 
How many movies are there in this franchise ? I think i might have missed at least one. Going to be peeing down all weekend where I am so might binge watch !

Including this one, there are 4 in the rebooted series.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
War of the Planet of the Apes.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
 
Haven't watched it yet but looking forward to it. Didn't feel like we needed another one so soon after the latest trilogy but hope it doesn't disappoint
 
Update — I went to see it today and I thought it was boring. Ok I liked the special effects but I thought the dialogue, the storyline and the chimpanzee screams and everything else was weird. Obviously judging by the ending this will by another movie which turns into another trilogy event.

As I'm getting older, these films bore me to death. Same as the new Superman, Batman etc. Too loud and too much "action". Jesus I am an old man! :D
