    Ayling in talks

If we think he should be an asset in the Championship for a couple of years still, and the evidence so far suggests he would, can anyone explain what the downside of giving him a 2 year deal would be?

    Zwift price increase

True, but as online subscription services go it was already expensive for what you get. Look at all the games you get with an XBox ultimate subscription for £12, or the amount of content you get from Netflix or Spotify for less. Or even things such as O365 for £8/month. £18/month for a single...

    Zwift price increase

Weird time of the year to do it too, just when the weather is improving and people are thinking of cancelling/pausing membership anyway. The email last week about the price rise was the nudge I needed to cancel straight away. Loads of others must have done the same. I'll be looking at other...

Jimmy Anderson retiring from test cricket

It's more down to the fixture list this summer I reckon. If you want to bring new players in and let them adapt to test cricket, then there's no better opposition than WI and SL really. If it was Australia or India, he'd likely have been asked to carry on for one more home series. Not a lot...

    The championship

That's a really good visualisation, great work coming up with it. It shows how tight the middle of the league was, but also really brings home how despite what felt like a decent season in the end (thanks to some recency bias no doubt) we were far closer to relegation (+19 points) than...

    No to Sam Greenwood

At the beginning when he started with a number of goals and assists it was hard to see why Leeds had let him come to us on loan, but it's become clearer as the season has progressed. Good luck to him, but I see him finding his level in the lower half of the Championship.

Charlie Elphicke: Former Tory MP jailed for two years after being found guilty of three sexual assaults

It makes me slightly nauseous thinking of what Labour will have had to bribe her with to get her to do this, given she is stepping down at the election. Dame Natalie Elphicke will be gracing the House of Lords in a couple of years presumably. 🤮

Charlie Elphicke: Former Tory MP jailed for two years after being found guilty of three sexual assaults

If Elphicke possessed the self-awareness to recognise the toxic bag of slime that she is, and the if Tories were anything like the cunning barstewards they used to be before systematically culling anyone with half a brain from their parliamentary party, then this defection would have a strong...

    Akpom back?

In previous times I would've said yes, let's get him back. He's a known quantity and would slot straight in. But our current recruitment team have such a good hit-rate, I'm looking forward to seeing who they come up with next. So it's a no from me. Onwards and upwards!

This is a bizarre one but injuries from dreams

Yes - a bad end to a brilliant dream. Playing at Wembley for England. Centre midfield and things were ticking over nicely, I kept receiving the ball under pressure but turning into space and picking out passes. Also closing down well and intercepting to win the ball. Really enjoying the...

The £5-00 Cup of Coffee in London

For black coffees (can't speak for milky ones) the likes of Greggs are where the value is - none of the chains do great coffee, so why not get your cup of 'better than instant' where it's cheaper?

    Hackney

Of course there's a risk Hackney will go this summer, but as several people have pointed out already, it's probably receded thanks to his being out of the team with injury. We all know how good he is, but from the outside looking in he's that young midfielder who had a great breakthrough...

    Luke Thomas ….

Bangura will be first choice next season if fit, with Engel as back-up. There are too many gaps elsewhere in the squad for LB to be a priority position unless one of these two are sold. We've not seen a lot of Bangura yet, but the signs are promising.

    2 Tier Premier League

Chasing promotion is completely understandable from a money perspective, but as a fan who wants to enjoy seeing the team do well it is a double-edged sword. Our last season in the PL under Karanka wasn't exactly full of fond memories.

    New UK population estimates published

Even if we could become self-sufficient in food, would we want to? A future of subsisting on turnips all winter? No thanks. It's one of the great modern achievements that thanks to global supply chains we can eat an amazing variety of foods from across the world, year round. We're going to...

    Ben White

I think White's position is fair enough. We've had a few similar over the years at Boro. Trevor Putney is one who comes to mind who apparently wasn't interested in the game other than just as a job like any other.

Or just reverting to a back four?

Djiksteel moving on at the end of the season ?

I've always liked Dijksteel and thought he was under-used. He's clearly not highly rated by Carrick though, who gets to see far more of him and knows far more about the game too. If he's wiling to stay as a squad player then I'd be happy to have him here next season, but he's clearly not the...
