BBC local radio shows will be replaced after 2pm - 139 jobs expected to go

There was a public consultation about 10 years ago when they wanted to reduce local radio content. I, amongst many others replied and the status quo was maintained due to the feeling that local radio is such a valuable resource for many reasons. Now they aren’t even bothered about asking local people their views. It is an absolute disgrace. Autocracy incoming.

If it closes surely its time for local people to fight back - protest and march against the BBC, refuse to pay the BBC licence or pay it late and make life awkward and more costly for them.

Start a rebel station like the Tamal Tigers did in Sri Lanka - based on donations, fundraising, volunteers and advertising.
