Brilliant New Teesside Book - North Sea To The East

This is a wonderful book that I really could not recommend more - long time Boro fan, pundit and published landscape poet John Powls provides verse from the heart about the area and football team he loves. This quality tome is illustrated beautifully be an array of local artists including Mackenzie Thorpe, Philip Meadows and Lynne@SmoggieArt, as well as many more. But also national figures that came to paint here in Turner and Lowry. There is real interplay between the visual artwork and John's words. I can well imagine how moved Mackenzie Thorpe was to receive a poem written about one of his paintings published here.
Anyway, I interviewed John about his work and you can read the first half of the interview in full below.
I will follow this up with John's Boro thoughts and also some words he has written about his Boro.

Do have a read of this interview of Boro fan/poet John Prowls. Interesting guy and terribly talented. I think people are going to love his book. A real quality publication and all about Teesside and Boro with wonderful artwork from Tillyer to Lowry.
