I was pleased to hear Carrick mention this during his post-match interview. It's something I definitely picked up on - the team are clearly being encouraged to be patient in their play and wait for an opening, and if there isn't one then the ball gets recycled back out wide.
Couple of times it nearly came off for us today. There was one moment 2nd half where Hackney laid it off to Akpom, just as the space opened up for him in the box but he couldn't keep his shot down.
I'd imagine it's something we will continue to work on in training and hopefully we will soon start reaping the rewards
