Colombo, Kojak, or?

I really disliked Kojak as a kid. The rule in our house was that I could stay up for Match of the Day if I kept awake. Kojak would always send me to sleep though and I'd wake up the next morning in bed having been carried upstairs long before the football started.

I always enjoyed Rebus. Liked how he would always get a pint with a whisky chaser like a true Scot.
If you find yourself in Edinburgh at anytime, pop into the Oxford Bar (The Ox) on Young Street. This is Rebus’ watering hole in the books. If you’re lucky, you might even bump into Ian Rankin. It’s a super friendly wee pub serving the best pint of Tennents in Scotland.

My favourite detective show is the Swedish version of Wallander played by Krister Henriksson, it was on BBC4 every Saturday night, although subtitled it was brilliant. I thought the English version with Kenneth Branagh wasn't half as good.

Another vote for Jim Rockford and the supporting characters.

Also Monk, 'unless I'm mistaken... which I'm not'.
