The Roses and indeed the Jamaican team are reaping the rewards of having players who star in the SSN ( Suncorp Super Netball) League in Australia. Housby and Harten play there and Eleanor Cardwell has just been snapped up be Adelaide Thunderbirds having played as the top GS in the English Super League with Manchester.

Jamaica have stars - Jhaniele Fowler is a beast at GS and is a top SSN player with WCF. Kadie-Ann Dehaney, Shamera Sterling, Jodi-Ann Ward and Latanya Wilson are also top players in the SSN so their defeat of Australia yesterday morning came as no great surprise to me. In fact I'd put money on Jamaica winning it. As for the Silver Ferns we weren't shocked by the defeat to the Roses. They came over here last year and beat us in a 3 game series so we knew we were up against it. We have also lost our stars at GS and GA in Ekanasio and Folau to retirement last year and they were pivotal in the World Championship win 3 years ago.

England v Australia - can't call it but with Australian Centre Hadley out Eng have a great chance

Jamaica v NZ - Jamaica comfortably sadly
Was at the Aus/Jam game yesterday morning. One of the best sporting battles Ive seen for a long time. Jamaica are excellen and their GS Fowler just gobbles up nets for fun. The England game however last night was also fantastic to watch. The atmosphere would have been amazing

Yes Eboni was in the squad. They rotate them all so she got court time. The key players for me in the Roses team are Housby obviously who makes us tick, the new star goal shooter Eleanor Cardwell which is great as Jo Harten isn’t quite 100% fit but our key player for me in defence is Geva Mentor Who has been superb.
Don't tell my other half that. She doesn't rate Housby at all. Although does admit she's a big game player so should be useful during the knockouts. Caldwell is just more consistent. As much as I love Eboni I agree about Mentor. She's just so experienced and so solid at the back. Definitely what the squad needs, the wise old head. Especially with the massive blow of losing Guthrie

Aus Jam seemed like a final didn't it? Can't believe it was a group game!

On day 8 out of 10, Its been excellent. Got to give a big shout out to the organisers, everything has gone like clockwork especially the network of shuttle buses too and from each event. Even coming out of the athletics stadium with 30000 people it only took us 35 minutes including queuing to get back to the city centre.
Highlight was definitely Eilish in the Women's 10000m. It was an
"I was there!" moment.
Got Athletics tonight
Cricket and Beach Volleyball on Saturday
And the final Athletics session on Sunday
Home on Monday.
It's been a fantastic experience l would recommend it to anyone.

Such a competitive sport and I believe The BBC only showed it on the red button when it should have got a prime channel spot Instead I was told they were showing bowls.
Yeah. That was noted. Ridiculous really. But probably says more about the age of weekday morning BBC viewers than it does about the sport. It always seems to get marginalised. Sky proudly proclaim to have loads of netball. Most of it is on sky YouTube

Beach Volleyball was great in Smithfield. It’s a large complex where the 3x3 basketball arena was also located. Crowds have been really big too.

Paris 2024 tickets will not be so easy to get as these Games of course. We used to be able to buy tickets from European ATRs as well but that Avenue has stopped now as the IOC has centralised ticket sales.
