Generally, Forest fans dont "hate" Brit - but they were well aware of his weaknesses and inconsistencies.
too often he missed the simple pass.
Too often he would fall over the ball.
Consistently he would back into players and claim he was fouled as he fell over.
Things havent changed.
Having a go at Dean Ashton is to miss the point entirely. Its Assombalonga who is under the spotlight.
Equally - comments that everyone "slips over" is fine in a limited number of matches - but his weaknesses and inconsistances form part of a pattern of play which we have seen for getting on for three and a half years! A miss here, a duff penalty there,........but not every other week.
Hes not good enough - and even if he scores 4 goals in the next 4 that will prove his inconsistency and lack of quality.
Hes a grown man and I cant blame him for taking the dollars.
But hes not the way forward.
How do you think other players, busting a gut, feel when they see their hard work rewarded by failure in the final third - more often than not?
It may not be Assombalonga`s "fault", but hes been here over three years ....
Absolutely its bad enough him being crap on his own but its the effect on the team that is the real killerHow do you think other players, busting a gut, feel when they see their hard work rewarded by failure in the final third - more often than not?

They were happy to take the money - after he saved them from relegation to the old third division, on the last day of the season. I know - I watched it in a bar full of Forest fans in the city centre. He had recovered from a knee injury and hadnt acheived after that. The fans in the pub and who live round about werent happy they could have gone back down and Brit had to take some responsibility for that.Don't take my word for it, just look at their forums at the time he left. They didn't want to sell him and some even talked about wanting to turn down £15m.
They were aware of his all round limitations but they saw him as a top goalscorer and a good finisher. As they didn't see us as being any better than themselves they accused him of being greedy and gave him dogs abuse when we played them.
It's a complete myth that Forest fans "warned us about him" etc. They liked him and wanted to keep him.
pot and kettle come to mindI agree CtC, whilst Britt wasn't value for the money paid nor the wages, neither of these things are his fault. Criticism should be laid at, and only at, MFC's door for sanctioning the spending. All too often, and I suspect this is with all clubs, a player becomes a target for some quite unsavoury commentry from fans.
I really don't like to see this, and I would hazard a guess that the people calling a player on a message board would quickly shut up if the player was in ear shot.
Balanced criticism of effort, or lack thereof is fine, getting personal with a player for lack of ability or salary is another thing altogether.
And before anyone chips in with the usual, "It's a message board, a game of opinions, we pays our money and are entitled to moan" it's the personal attacks and insults that are uncalled for.
Please do explain, that lost me.pot and kettle come to mind
A lot of what you say there explains the logic behind your political points of view
Bit of an enigma is Britt. His goalscoring record for us is actually pretty good. 43 in 135 is roughly 1 in 3. That's not bad. It's not great either and it's not what you pay £15m for but in his defence he has hardly played in a good Boro side yet. I don't think he deserves the criticism he gets. I think he is a decent enough striker at this level and usually our best chance for a goal.
His signing though was a symptom. A symptom of the same disease that has seen us spend millions on other average players and that has seen us sell players like Bamford. Recruitment and the decisions around it has been singularly dreadful for a long, long time. It looks like they might deserve credit for Bola and Dijksteel after all but the overall performance has been astonishingly bad. Britt not being worth £15m is a symptom of that problem and nothing to do with Britt.
