Do many other posters ‘ignore’ people on here?

Just the one who started hurling abuse for no apparent reason. I know for sure that I wasn't the only one but he was sucking the life out of the board with his spam

I appreciate the view that it's good to have your views challenged and to be open minded, so with this in mind, my ignore list is relatively small.

That said, there seems to be so many people who simply double down on some ridiculous takes and so I'm not actually that convinced that there is genuine debate happening.

Life is too short to have to deal with nonsense in what is effectively downtime. You'll be amazed at how much of a disproportionate affect there is in ignoring just a couple of the cranks
I had indeedio call me a tw** because I mentioned Clough’s statue shouldn’t be moved to the Riverside. It never crossed my mind to put him on the ignore list.

There are certain poster you have seen posted something and just don’t open it. Not many.

No, you don’t learn anything from people whose opinions mirror your own.
The danger is that you’d end up in almost an echo chamber.

I've just checked and I had one poster on ignore. Can't remember why, so I've changed it back. Other opinions are welcome, as long as it doesn't descend into abuse.

I've got the aliases of several trolls who no longer post on my ignore list and one very well known poster who I personally think brings nothing to any conversation.
I've no issue with opposite views, but some take things way too far and resort to trolling and spoil the board for lots of people.

I wouldn’t block someone whose opinions on footy, politics etc I disagreed with. I would block a consistently abusive poster although thankfully I’ve not been on the end of much of that sort.

I have ignored two “characters” who I found a bit tedious and one supporter of another club who I couldn’t decide if they were on a wind up or just generally annoying… either way it tidied things up and made the browsing experience more enjoyable.

It actually works quite well. Instead of their post you just see a gap with a message saying "You're ignoring this doyle". Likewise if someone proper quotes them. Also gives you an option to view the inane drivel they've posted anyway.

Absolutely this, I have 2 on ignore at the moment I did have a third but I took him off the list a few months back. I can get quite aggressive in retaliation when I feel someone is having a pop at me so rather than snap the ignore function is very useful. Thankfully its only an online forum and were not all sat in a room or id of probably got myself into trouble by now.

I would like to see who is ignoring you as I think it would show that there is an issue and hopefully you can resolve it.

Like a tab when you click on profile page that they are ignoring you etc it would stop you replying as well when they won’t respond.

Or a number on your own profile of how many people are ignoring you so it would say 31 people are ignoring you etc.

Just the 31 😉
