Everyone’s fit … who starts?

If the 3 that go down are as they are I'd hope that it would be Leeds/Southampton, Burnley and then us that would be strongest sides. There are a few others that could compete but nothing to fear.

Definetly

I think Carrick likes a back 5 - he couldn’t play it because he had so few fit centre halves. With RVzB, Clarke and Lenihan available and a couple of strong wing backs it looks our strongest formation.

Use the Hackney money to get Archer back in and a new destroyer type midfielder to develop McCabe and cover for Howson.
Good strong bench of Fry, Smith, Engel, Jones, McGree, Coburn, Forss, Barlaser Silvera - need another goal scorer

The team as things stand for next season picks itself in my opinion...

- - - - - - - - Dieng - - - - - - - -
Smith - RVDB - Clarke - Engel
- - - Howson - - - Hackney - - -
- Jones - - - Azaz - - - McGree -
- - - - - - Latte Lath - - - - - -

Fry, Lenihan and Bangura very strong options on the bench. Not sure on Dijksteel. Need a RB - Hopefully that will be Ayling.

Barlasar is a good squad player. McCabe looks like he'll be integrated into the squad. If Hackney leaves CDM is a priority signing.

Forss, Gilbert and Silvera all good squad players but potentially need one more.

Coburn is also a good backup but need one more of similar quality.

My first choice, assuming Ayling signs permanent, would be:

- - - - - - - - Dieng - - - - - - - -
Ayling - - Fry - - - Lenihan - Engel
- - - Howson - - - Hackney - - -
- Jones - - Latte Lath - - - Azaz -
- - - - - - - Coburn - - - - - -

But I wouldn't be unhappy with:

- - - - - - - - Dieng - - - - - - - -
Smith - - Fry - - - Lenihan - Engel
- - - Howson - - - Hackney - - -
- Jones - - - Azaz - - - McGree -
- - - - - - Latte Lath - - - - - -

Your playing Fry ahead of RVB (player of the season) and Clarke who most feel was with Latte Lath our best player since Christmas? Would be interested to hear your thinking behind that?

I’m amazed. Genuinely stunned.

For me Lenihan has to play and it’s four at the back.

We need a tough tackling destroyer bringing in. Ideally one who can pass.

Fozzy kept Jones out of the picture a lot this season. Love Jonesy, but either could play for me.

McGree could play on the left or centrally. Gilbert could come into contention. Azaz, Silvera and others can all play there. Even Engel could play wide left.

I’m not sure we need to sign many players. We still haven’t seen anything like the best of the squad we have.

Ayling VDB Lenihan Bangura
Howson/new signing Hackney
Fors/Jones ? McGree
Latte Lath
