Fontaines DC

I must admit on first listenI wasn't overly impressed. I like the fact they're not afraid to take risks and change up the style etc but think they've landed a bit flat here.

I know what they're going for, and whilst the production and instrumentation is pretty exciting I think it's their poorest set of songs yet.

I've never properly listened to them but always hear Favourite on the radio and it's really grown on me. I'll check this album out today.

I love Nick Cave but I feel like he could release any old sh*t and it would get glowing reviews. Sometimes it feels like with certain acts they are guaranteed 5 stars no matter what.
Saying that I don’t think I’d give much of his back catalogue less than 4 stars!
 
A couple of good tracks, nothing special, a bit disappointed really. I understand all band change style throughout, but admired their originality during their early albums. This Feels like miles away from their debut album.

Pretty much sums up where I am with them and why I don’t bother with them.
