Which means she is very possibly our next PM.

It is a ridiculous situation the people of this country have put themselves in.

Time to change the system, so we are not in thrall to a handful of foreign overseas tax dodging billionaires and a few thousand senile racist out of touch old duffers.

We all know that the bumbling idiot persona of boris is all an act to play up the good people of Hartlepool etc, when in reality Alexander is far closer to rees mogg in private in his views and lifestyle but has perfected this wolf in sheep’s clothing act but is quite a cold operator.

liz truss how ever is not acting at all she is just a fkin idiot that has somehow reached the upper echelons of this govt.

Aside from the apparent lack of talent in the cabinet that she is even being mentioned as a future leader, it would mean that the Tories would have had three female PMs while the Labour party hasn't even had a single female leader.

That is pretty shocking for a party that prides itself on equality.

BTW her parents, a University academic & nurse, are variously described as socialist, left-wing and wouldn't campaign for her during her first election campaign.

Perhaps when she gets into Number 10 she'll be activated from her deep sleeper role.

I've talked about this before, but people of the older generation who read certain newspapers certainly talk of Liz Truss as a success in completing trade deals and making a success of brexit.

I don't know specifically where they get the info from, but in conversations I have had she has come up as doing a good job. It never fails to surprise me how well the press portrays certain characters and actions of government, and how polar opposite peoples opinions can be to my own.

She's hopeless but maybe less of a liar than Johnson. I suppose it would be good news for Labour if she got in.

I think we are a few weeks away from any sign of Johnson going. I think it would take proof of him or Carrie holding a party to make him go. Or if the vote to enable Plan B fails, which it might do.

I kinda hope Labour abstain and let the Tories eat themselves up.

Is this true? As I understood her mam was OK about it.

It feels very much like everything is being set up for Rishi Sunak to take over..

Personally I don't think Labour went in the right direction to appose the conservatives/boris johnson/win the next election.

Barry Gardiner & Ian Lavery pictured would have been a good start imo to clear the decks, win back the red wall ect

Not much of a pool to pick from is there? Hundreds of Tory MP's and she tops the list. That's how bad this lot are.
Nonetheless, if that's who they want to put up then crack on. I'm sure it will only be a temporary appointment given that she is even thicker than Johnson.

Their hearts are in the right place, but they are just not bright enough, or perhaps too clouded by passion and ideology to utilise their intelligence properly. I mean, they are not Truss level stupidity.

In Westminster circles Barry was known as Inconstant Gardiner, while Lavery was a Lexiter who, ignoring his own internal polling, thought the 2019 election was a good idea and promptly saw his majority drop from over 10,000 to just hang on with one of 854.
