When Joe Blackett scored Boro's 1st ever penalty v Aston Villa in a division one fixture, at our brand new stadium

It was our 6th home game in our new home & to date & after losing the opening open day fixture to Sunderland we have now won 5 on the bounce, scoring 19, conceading 6

Joe Cassidy, who is credited with scoring the 1st goal at Ayresome Park, scored Boro's 1st goal, with Joe Blackett scoring the winner from the spot, with an attendance of 20,000

Joe Blackett went on to play 84 games, scoring 4 goals, all penalties

I remember it well
Joking apart I remember talking to an old guy in Stampy's bar under the south stand at Ayresome Park, around 1992, who remembered those early days at Ayresome as a child.
