I was impressed with Boro public today

Had to nip into town today to return some shopping and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of people being Covid compliant . Normally I shop in Yarm and the Yarm public don’t come close to the Boro folk in compliance . Well done Boro 👏

I live in Boro and everywhere I've been people have had facemasks on, give each other enough room etc.

Unfortunately you will still get the odd idiot but hey ho, you even have them in Yarm.

When walking in Yarm I’m honestly dodging and diving people and half the time walk on the side of the bloody road .

I'm not one for swerving people when outside, the chances of getting the lergy that way are very minimal.

I was in Asda at South Bank at the weekend and what does annoy me is the age old womens tradition of bumping into someone they know and blocking the whole aisle ................ it was bad enough before this pandemic but now it's just plain stupid & rude.

The problem Asda have now is more of their business is going on line. Means you have people picking the stock with those huge trolleys whilst other people struggle to get past and socially distance.
All the qualitative feedback I've seen says customers feel less safe in Asda and Aldi compared to others

I simply won’t go in a supermarket now . I have now been shopping online click and collect for six months and pick it up in the store car park . Very rare items haven’t been fresh and if your not happy you can hand it back . I’ll likely continue doing it this way when ‘normality’ is back .

You and many others - online is up over 80% and would be more if they had the capacity.
In fairness - the risk of getting the virus in a supermarket is low. We have 2000 people working in ours and from day 1 the number of +ve tests has been negligible (and they didn't have to wear masks for a chunk of that time).

I do understand people not wanting to take the risk tho

Cheers finny it’s always interesting to get another angle on things . I’m particularly careful not so for my benefit but that of my mam . She’s 89 and is in my bubble so I’d never forgive myself if it was noteworthy that I passed it along unwittingly .

On a personal level this second lockdown has done me the power of good as I’ve shed another stone ( 2 stone first lockdown ) and knocked booze down to health prescribed levels . I was drinking far too much before all this and the one good to have come out of all this is I’ve given myself a very stern kick up the @*** .

Well done for getting control, we’re out of control atm. Mrs has just one back to the UK so I’ve got ten days to get a grip and get some training back on track. Plus all the jobs she left me.

Did click and collect from Sainsbury’s during lock down. It was new to me, but fair play to the lad everything that just had one day left on the sell by he said ‘tell me that’s no good and I’ll knock it off the bill. Made for some interesting teas.

Did you go to the village? Certainly isn't the case, sadly.

On one occasion my order had bread that was out of date the next day , but I already knew before I picked it up as email prior to collection detailed it wasn’t as fresh as they’d have liked . On collection the guy knocked the loaves off the bill and gave us the bread anyway .

Yes always got the stuff, just didn’t pay, fair play to them.
