Kitchens (again)

Hello All,
Thanks for all of the advice you gave me regarding kitchens. I was nearly decided until Mrs Ayresome got a tip off a friend of a friend, to try the Kitchen Surgeon (Stockton) who can fully install a new kitchen and design it if required. She wants to get a quote off them so I was wondering if anybody has any experience with them regarding supply and fitting of kitchens before I go down this path?

I would appreciate any feedback on this please.

*Edit* I originally mentioned the Kitchen Doctor but it is the Kitchen Surgeon if anybody is re-reading this thread.

We used Fletcher and Harrison in Middlesbrough, they design, make and install the kitchen for you.
Went to the showroom on Skippers lane industrial, told them what we wanted, they designed it all and then they have a warehouse at the back that make everything.
Really good team and more than happy with the work.

I used to own and run my own kitchen business in Devon, so cant comment on companies close to you,

However, depending on the state and design of your existing kitchen, it is often the skill of the fitter that matters more than the carcases that you buy.
Are you happy with the design of your existing kitchen, or are you looking for a redesign with lots of fancy features, these will cost you a lot of money unless the fitter can make them for you.
Do you have any awkward corners/features to contend with.
If you have a standard kitchen in an estate house you really dont need a fancy supplier, a Howdens/ Builders merchant type kitchen will be the most cost effective method with a decent quality of build. They can also design it for you to maximise storage space.
If you want different worktops, eg granite/quartz then source those separately from a local supplier.

Hope these points help.

I drive past a worktop manufacturer called F Jones every time I go through Riverside Park on my way home from the match. Anyone know if they're any good and if they do retail sales?
