Luke Ayling

His leadership and experience have really helped us. I hope he stays on, but I would imagine his wages are quite high.

Like I said if Leeds don't go up he will be offended a contact at Elland Road.
Connor Roberts will be going back to Burnley and Archie Gray has been used in midfield.

Don't shoot the messenger gays

Doesn’t mean he will sign it, unless the manager changes I’d be surprised if he went back. He was bombed out and even if he is offered a new contract it’s likely to be as a backup to a new right back though I expect Leeds will likely try and sign Roberts permanently who will only have a year left on his Burnley deal.

Without doubt his next contact will be a lot more modest, unless a relegated PL team comes in for him and we will have the distinct advantage of him enjoying here, relatively competitive and being local.

I actually think the biggest risk will be Leeds offering him a new contract, but that would take a huge packpeddle from Farke, and another season in the championship.

If we want him, and I'm sure we do, I don't think it will be a difficult deal.

Brum could be in league 1. The very best stay up and not be a promotion contender next season. I'm not bothered about them.

Sheff UTD will have more money and tick the location box. They will also be in the promotion mix. The only way Leeds will keep him is if they have a new manager. Although noted he's getting plenty of stick despite 90 points and 2nd.

I think the contract length is arguably more important than wages. The added security of a 2 year deal is better than 1. Especially if he was to get a serious injury. Imagine if Smith had only signed a year. He'd be injured and clubless in June.

Just hope the fact he's playing and clearly enjoying himself will help swing it. You'd think some tentative chats will already have happened. That is of course if we want him. We may have a younger 'better' option already identified.

If Sheffield Utd make him a priority then I think they'll offer him a better deal than we can. I reckon that is quite likely. He's a classic Wilder player and Wilder is already mumping about their lack of experience. Wilder will also see being able to sabotage a promotion rival as a useful part of it.

It would be a shame but I do suspect we had a long term plan before Ayling.
