OK, a bit premature but, after supporting Middlesbrough for 56 years, I have never looked forward to a Championship season more than next year. (OK, the Premier League years were on different level)! We have the best Chairman and Manager in the Championship. Johnny, our Captain, the Teesside Modric. We are playing nice football to watch. The Scouting has been top notch under Kieran Scott. We have a great team, young lads coming through, a fantastic support and, hopefully, new signings in the summer. WOW. (y)

Gibson has said we have 4 or 5 main targets and if we can get them he's confident we can challenge for promotion.

He spoke highly of Kieron Scott and of course Carrick. It's clear everyone is on the same page and hopefully lessons will have been learnt from this season.

I just hope we only lose one of our top assets (looks likely to be Hackney). If we can retain most of the squad and end up signing our main transfer targets then we should be challenging next season.
 
I'm excited personally, I see a great young core of a squad developing who with those additional layers of quality added to the side and a full pre season behind them could be a force in the championship next season!

Gonna be a good summer (I hope)
 
I'm genuinely excited for what could happen in the summer and next season. Howson and Jones signing new deals is a great start. Now the gaffer and Ayling would be nice.

Clearly so much depends on who we can retain over the summer. If we start next season with the current team and fit Mcgree / Hackney / Forss / Smith and Coburn it's a very decent squad. Some really good champo players wouldn't even start.

I expect the main interest will be in Hackney / Rav and maybe Latte Lathe. We'd do well to keep hold of all 3. So maybe one will be sold for silly money.

Also Mcgree and Forss are entering final year of contracts. I believe the club now has the sensible policy of selling if they wont sign a new deal. That makes sense rather than losing them for nothing. That said both would be great to keep hold of and difficult to replace with 'as good' or better.

I think we will spend a few quid. Well by none parachute payment standards. Especially if the likes of Hackney is moved on. You could by 3-4 decent players with that money. The recruitment has been spot on recently 👍
 
After seeing the match today I am even more excited. Law McCabe looking like a Hackney clone, Latte Lath looking like a top striker and defensive midfield player / full back, Ayling looking like Cafu, Bangura coming on and scoring like a Centre Forward. The defensive partnership of VDB and Clarke. Just need the main signing. Michael Carrick and staff. Ten year contract. :D
