Being there live I thought that Michael Carrick was really open today and very optimistic looking forward to next season.

I came out of that really upbeat press conference and was asked by Tyne Tees about my thoughts on next season and I had to say I was really very optimistic. The basis of a very good team are bedded in now. Keep them fit and add a couple of signings and we could be in for a really good season.
