My dad took me & my younger brother to see the mighty Boro at Preston on the 11th November 1972, Boro winning 1-0 courtesy of big John's 3rd goal of the season
82 different grounds followed that travelling away with the Boro

Tried to make it my sons 1st away game but we went a few weeks earlier to Swansea v Boro, 2009, due to been on holiday in South Wales, Preston v Boro was his 2nd game, took a photo of us both outside the turnstiles

FANtastic! Brilliant mate.
I see Sunlun lost at Carlisle!:)(y)

A good day out is Preston, I really enjoyed last seasons away win there. Some fine ales before the game, followed by Jonathan Woodgates mighty Boro comprehensively outplaying the lilywhites by 2-0. The lesser spotted Gestede swooping for the first goal and him being one of the star performers on the day (did I say that out loud). A perfect day out, not even the cancellation of the train home, missing subsequent connections and the worst sandwich in christendom from a Preston Sainsbury's local could detract from the day. It was at that exact point I finally gave up with my previous and relentless claim that Woodgate was not up to the job.......... oh well.......

I started against Preston in 1953

we lost 0-4 at Ayresome

Charlie Wayman played for them that day - a few years before he joined us but to see Finney and Mannion on the same field was great

Paul Kerr, Boro's 1st cash signing after liquidation, made his debut at home to Preston in a 1-0 FAC 3rd round defeat, 3rd January 1987

Was a great day that. Also the Day Fletcher got given the goal which was quite clear an own goal! We played well that day. I was just about starting to believe Woodgate was turning it round. How wrong I was

Last game of the brilliant 73-74 season Bobby verses Jack with Nobby as player coach for PNE having just left Boro.
Very little segregation probably because the majority of the crowd was from the Boro. Boro won 4-2 it could have been 6 or 7. Two goals for Salty in for Souness.
Boro promoted PNE relegated..

Asking what pies they do, and hearing
“Butter”
Erm pardon
“butter pie” as an option,
err, you, whaa?

Rudy's best ever game. 2 years earlier another great win (on new year's day again )only spoilt by a young lad unapologetically vomiting a few times in the next seat
