Promotion odds - how high did they go?

After the Wilder sacking - how high were our odds for promotion?

Betfair is showing odds matched at 14.0 (13/1) earlier in the season.

The wisdom on this board was that we had no chance and no chance of the play offs.

Posters pointing out we had the second highest expected goals in the Championship were labelled delusional or you can prove anything with stats.

The majority of posters never gave up on our chances of making the playoffs. One or two did insist we had zero chance and should write off the season as early as September.

In fairness the NTT20 podcast did keep banging on about our xG even when we were rubbish.

We were missing a lot of big chances under Wilder that we should have been putting away.

It was the goals we were conceding that were the main problem though.

Some of the early away results were crazy

Dominated at Stoke - draw
Matched QPR - lost
Matched Reading - lost
Matched Coventry - lost
Matched Watford - lost

I base the description on goal attempts stats.

Across those aggregate of 5 games we had more goals attempts than our opposition, but only 1 point from a possible 15.
