Surely this is all smoke and mirrors by MBC. They worked in partnership with the art college to deliver a new site and sold them the land. They must have had some leverage in terms of what would happen to the old site. These trees were likely an inconvenience and they've acted in a passive manner to let the private developer play the villain. All the evidence suggests that.
