I don’t really use eBay much these days but I’ve just bought something ( couldn’t find it anywhere else it’s new btw) and I was wondering is there a set time by which the seller has to ship the item by.

as I paid for it on tues but no shipping date shown as yet ( they are in the uk).

thanks

You get a estimate delivery date which you should be able to see on your email. Not all sellers send you tracking details but you can log into your account and check if the seller as dispatch your item on your accounts page.

There’s also a minimum waiting time of something like 28 days after expected delivery before you can put refund procedures in place.

eBay recently changed to accepting their own payment service - a fried recently sold something and tbe buyer paid with that. As it was the first time it was a fews day to clear, which he said was frustrating.

How did you pay?

They should state in his sales advert what his average shipping time. I do plenty of selling and always say within 48hrs but 99% of the time it's the next day. Then send them a message saying its posted and add tracking details.

If he's delayed he/she should at least have the common curtisty to message you and say they have been delayed. I once sold something and then went to sea unexpectedly with the Navy. The guy fully understood and I gave him a few quid off for waiting 3 weeks. I'd say that was a valid excuse.

I actually have more issues with buyers saying they can't afford or don't want it after a winning bid. I sold a jacket for £28 the other say and the guy messaged me saying 'could I wait 11 days for payment?'..... Give me strength😒

As your buying from eBay it’s generally just up to the seller to post, some take pride in getting the item out as fast as possible / some don’t but they will have a dispatch time on the listing - some are 1/2 days who are fast, some are 5 days to allow more time - but eBay use this time frame and mark them down if they are late posting / you receiving parcel. eBay also like sellers to upload tracking once posted so as stated above check the listing since you’ve bought it to see if this has been updated yet.
