Sam Greenwood

That video made him look a world beater.

In all seriousness though that video actually sums him up. He’s a moments footballer. He may grow with experience and become an all round player but right now I’d rather it’s not us try and unlock the potential as it’s a bit of a risk as he just didn’t show enough in general play and was poor for months. Was good when he came on against Watford but still it’s not enough. Especially when we already have Azaz and Gilbert.

Good luck to him though, you couldn’t fault his effort.

Looks like he won’t be coming back.

He's not good enough
Nothing personal it's a simple assessment
We tried with him...he had occasional moments but overall anonymous and lacking heart whixh in my book is the biggest of all flaws....I wish him well

As others have pointed out, Sam was making the same mistakes 3/4 of the way through the season as to when he first played.
Turning into player’s, holding onto the ball too long, when he did find a bit of space, looking to shoot when other players were in better positions.

He probably needs a couple of seasons to iron out his mistakes, we want promotion next season…good luck Sam.

He did alright. He's not our worst signing in recent years by someway. It's easy to forget how young he still is and how much actual game time he had before joining us.

I'd have snapped Leeds hands off at xmas. I still feel at 1.5mil it's not that much of a gamble. Although clearly factoring in wages etc it could be an expensive deal. So I'd say no.

I wish him well. We've had some shocker signings and loans in recent years. He isn't one of them. I imagine he's massively benifited from significant game time. I expect he will sign for a champo club in the summer. He may go on to he a top player. Still plenty of time.

He's got a interesting summer. We don't want him and neither do Leeds. So his agent is going to have to work his magic. No doubt sign for Sunderland and score the winner against us 😂

Exactly. Boro have had some terrible loan signings of recent times. Greenwood definitely isn’t one of them. He’s looked good several times, but has lacked consistency. The same can be said of Jones too in fact.

Exactly, I would never say he is a bad player, just lacked experience and consistency.

For me the biggest thing is unlike almost every player whos joined the club under carrick he hasnt improved if anything hes gone backwards. If carrick cant improve him i dont think anyone will
baffling comment really, he's just had by far his most productive season in professional football

I work with a Leeds fan who told me .... One week he's an 8 and the next three weeks he'll be a 5.....a technically good footballer who goes missing missing and is unlikely to fulfill his potential.....

I reckon he was just about bang on!

He’s a young lad and playing regular will make him more accountable playing somewhere like Plymouth . He’s got double figures in him .

I thought he was generally poor, even in some of the earlier games.

I think his goals against Sunderland and Leicester helped to paper over the cracks but I've found him to be a frustrating player to watch from day one.

He has his moments but he can be ball greedy and gets knocked off the ball too easily at times.

Hackney’s comment was “Gunna miss you bro”. Maybe Greenwood is staying and Hackney is going?
