Sunak's deprived childhood

He should have seen the trap when asked & just said he is aware how lucky he was having parents in excellent jobs & didn't have the financial worries many parents & families face..
You would have to have an ounce of empathy in your body to come out with an answer like that.
Or…….clever PR people, of which he clearly has neither!

He was 10 before sky tv even came out, next to no one had it for the first few years, but i bet his house did

John Swinney, SNP leader

Growing up in Scotland in the 1960s, I didn’t see my first vegetable until I was 12 years old. It was a marrow, on a velvet cushion in the window of Maule’s, and we all crowded around to see this exotic alien presence, scarcely believing it real. Bananas remained only a rumour until the late 1980s. I still haven’t seen a kumquat.
When I first went to the wife's house for Sunday lunch, I said these roast sweet potatoes are nice. They are parsnips she replied and as never let me forget. :)

I was 25 at the time and had never seen or tasted one. Mash potatoes, roast potatoes, peas and carrots were the only veg we had with our Sunday lunch.

I always get her back with the bottle of Camp Coffee her mum bought for when I went round. At least we had Mellow Bird's. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Do you think he will have got a dodgy card to put in the box like the rest of us? 🤣🤣🤣

Everyone knew a man who could get one. I remember getting a dodgy Virgin card and setting it up. As soon as I turned it on I got a message saying it was illegal and as I was reading it the phone rang and one of the kids answered. Dad, it's Virgin for you - Tell them I'm out I replied. I crapped myself and unplugged the set, etc and wouldn't let them watch it.

When they rang back, it was just a cold call trying to get me to sign up again. 🤣🤣🤣

I seriously hate this guy. What a tool
I suppose that if he'd have said that he wasn't allowed to keep a 2nd Polo pony, at his family's holiday home, he could have come across as being a bit unrelatable maybe?

He probably almost said something similar, and stopped himself just in time.

I dont think I knew what a sweet potato was until I was 25 - parsnips are far more prevalent than sweet potatoes.

Hate to be a pedant but that's a digibox dish. We really need a high Def close up of the wall to see if the plugs are still there from the old analogue dish that Rishi DEFINITELY WOULDN'T HAVE HAD back in the early 90's.

Honestly I thought I had it bad scraping the ice off the inside of the single glazed ally framed windows, we also had no central heating (not that we could have afforded to run it anyway) but at least I got to go to my cousin's every week to watch the Simpsons on my uncles dodgy sky box.
