Same here, I guess the news clips tended to focus on relatively small numbers breaking through, rather than on the seething masses going mental outside.

Yeah, the massive crowd of people who stood outside for the whole game until it started raining and England lost, I presume they just didn't bother watching the match? Or were they watching it on their phones will they were snarling at the line of riot police for 2 hours?

Exactly. All this "Once in a lifetime bruv, wouldn't miss that game for the world" etc soon gets forgotten about after a few beers and a bit of ching.
