As the mighty Boro came from 1-0 down away to Southampton with an excellent 3-1 win, with goals from Paul Kerr, typical, quality Bernie Slaven goal & a beauty Mark Burke goal, I honestly thought we were good enough to finish comfortably never mind fight to stay up

We certainly didn't deserve to go down that season

Unfortunately only one more win from that game onwards & that was away at WHU, again we come from behind to win

The fight was there but we didn't get the breaks going for us

 
A year later in the 2nd division with a 3-0 home win over Sunderland with goals from Peter Davenport with a rare goal, as predictable a Bernie goal & Gary, Gary, Gary, Gary, Gary Parkinson

Went to that game
In the last few minutes - after all the excitement of the comeback - some lads behind were waving some car keys to see who'd lost them. They were mine - me and my late father would have been a bit late back to Teesside without them !!
