Tonight’s man of the match

He's a frustrating player to watch at times Azaz, summed up in the 2nd half when he turned is man inside the box and then tried to beat another defender instead of shooting.

He does need to get his shot off quicker, and to sort his feet out quicker at times. He also needs to look after the ball better at times, as he can look very lightweight.

There were however definitely positives to take out of his performance. Involved in two goals and his movement off the ball is excellent - he's always looking to find little pockets of space when we're on the attack.

Definitely more to come from him next season.
He’s joined half way through the season and perhaps was meant to play along side Morgan and Crooks but he has been thrown in to do more than expected? Plus it always takes time to catch up with the rest of them team when joining mid season. This has also happens to Ayling - got better the more he’s played.

Don’t forget when he started he was on the left with games passing him by but has looked much better now central. He’s scored a few goals and he’s set a few up - Lath’s second against Swansea and on Monday. I think they could get a good relationship going.

Yes the lad needs to be more decisive but he’s shown enough to see that there is something we get on with.

Yeah, I found it a bit odd that Carrick was playing him out on the left initially - he's looked much better playing centrally.

There are real signs there that he's building a good understanding with Lath. It was Azaz's quick thinking to play the first time through ball to Lath which led to the first goal vs Leeds. He knew that Lath was going to make the run.

I think that's true of every player, isn't it?
Which player plays to their full potential all the time, takes every opportunity and finishes every chance?
When they don't, it's frustrating. That's the nature of the game: it's never going to be bland and anodyne. It wouldn't be popular if it was.

***Lath by an absolute mile - an outstanding performance
** Jones for industry.
* Bangura for promise.

Yeah, that's true, although you can't really say that about Apkom last season.

I find Azaz frustrating to watch at the moment because you can see he has ability on the ball and a good footballing brain but things just aren't quite coming off for him, but hopefully over time they will and he will become an important player.
