huge strides in this arena over the last 20 years. Apparently these robots that can walk are a good case study in the advances in AI. It's near impossible to programme a robot to walk, it's just far far too complicated. Getting them to understand balance, terrain, gravity, steps upwards/downwards, slippery liquids etc. Self learning is used to let the robots work out by repeated failure until they get success. Same way that a baby learns to stand, then wobble and fall, until eventually they can walk.
AI is getting smarter all the time, skynet is coming.
