A good metro mayor should make it a priority to bring the area together. Transport infrastructure is key to that. I’d like to see a plan to develop the old marshalling yard land between Middlesbrough and Thornaby too. It’s a huge open area with easy rail and road access and could easily become the central commercial district and transport hub for an eventually merged city.
