Anyone here drink in Navigation pub?

I have always wondered…Does it get much trade on non-match/concert days? Not exactly on anyone’s doorstep.
It has a slow stream of regulars that have been using it for years, and some that pop in from the surrounding yards for a couple, but generally pretty quiet. My mum worked a couple of evening shifts a week and on match days until she retired last summer.

Must be doing something right to still be trading. Long may it continue.
It's a potential gold mine too with some more investment.

I really like coors but at 4%? I think it is, it's hardly worth drinking, if madri is like a premium version of coors then I will have to give it a go.
4% was a reasonable strength when I was a young fella. Newcastle Brown being one of the stronger beers, it's 4.7% so on the weak side of today's offerings, as is Guinness. The Strongarm sold today is 4.3%, John Smith's 3.8%.

Lager classed by some draught beer drinkers as 'a woman's drink' being stronger than a lot of the draught 'bloke's beer' of the day

As for the Navi, it's my favourite pub in the Boro.

My local in London was the Drayton Park, it's the away pub immediately outside the Emirates away end. An absolute dump but there used to be some decent lads in there. I had a card to get in on match days that let me into an upstairs bar. The match day kept it open, it would have folded without it. I'm guessing the Navi is the same.

I was passing the Navi regularly for the last 12 months or so as using dockside road as a bit of a rat run through to the A66 from the site I was working on.

When the weather was dry there was always a dozen or so blokes sat outside having a pint in the afternoon. Assume there was a few more inside.

The Navi still sells Strongarm?

Madri is a decent lager tbf, nice medium strength too. But I was amused when my colleague told me his son was going to Spain last summer 'cos his favourite beer is Madri'.
Especially when it's made with the exact same recipe as Coors. Just the temperatures involved making both of them are different.

My old man works for Molson Coors. Madri is absolutely FLYING. They can't brew it quick enough. Was brought out to rival/go up against Moretti.. not aimed at the same audience as Coors. I think it beats Moretti hands down.

The Navi's is spot on. Shout for the Smoggy Scholar in the town too, beauty in there.

I'm not a fan of Coors myself.

Its still funny now to me..... But I ain`t easily offended like some folks nowadays...And I am a copper top myself! lol
I still find it funny too, but less people probably do now than they did 40 years ago. My mate who we go drinking with is ginger and he takes no offence when we tell him he has to drink outside while we go in cos he'll scare the ladies.

Do they still sell cans on match days?
I haven't been in for a while but remember the last time I went it was standing room only and they were selling cans of Carling at a dirt cheap price. Was rude not to take up the offer.

I go in before every matchday and meet up with another fmttm er.
Cans gone up to £2.50 but hey ho, he only sells 8 every matchday. My mate in the tax office said that’s what’s on his returns anyway 😂
