Now that we know it's another season in the Championship, what would you like to see happen regarding Coburn next season?

10 goals in 35 appearances is a decent record considering he's a young lad, and I'm sure he'll have benefited from getting a full season under his belt.

If we get Archer back on loan it would be great to have two strikers with different styles competing for the no 9 role.

There are no positives to not going up, but I could not see Coburn being given a chance he needs for his career if we had done. I really hope he is given a role for us next season. He should be third choice, coming off the bench/starting some games at a minimum. The current role Crooks has been playing. I fancy him to get goals in this team. We create a lot and he has a good eye for the back of the net.

Coburn would give us a more physical option from the bench - what Crooks was asked to do only Coburn is a natural striker.

He would have offered more than Muniz. Also saved us a couple of mil in loan fees and wages. Also surely better coming on than Crooks as an actual CF?

I'm convinced he'd have been a better option. I doubt Carrick has seen much of him. Give him a pre season with us and see how he goes. He can always be loaned out on transfer deadline day. Gives you that option of going more direct.

I think Coulson might be given a chance. Woodgate is a big fan. He was a first team regular under him. I know a lot of people don't rate him but I think there's a player in there. I would love us to get Giles back on loan if that's possible. Wouldn't be opposed to having Coulson as backup.
Agree re Coulson, he was excellent when he first broke through under Woody 👍

Coburn stats better looked at like this
9 goals in first 18 starts and when played at least 45 min
then 4 meaningless subs appearances next, given the mins he came on for
then 1 goal in last 12 matches when re-instated to the starts or playing at least 45, but the team itself had a hard time , losing 7 of those and only winning 3. Only Josh can give our management more details abouth that on the debrief.
I'm happy for those first 18 games and hope he gets a good pre-season in with us and nothing needs be decided until a week before transfer window closes.

At the end of the season, he received the club's Young Player of the Year award and their goal of the season award for his goal in October against Sheffield Wednesday.[22]

I would keep as third choice and see how he’s getting on and how much game time he’s getting between August and January and if we think it’s beneficial he goes in Jan and starts games then and we can replace him with someone to help push on for a play off/auto push

It all depends on who comes through the loan process. Personally I think he’s (Josh) good enough for the Championship and could set the place a light next season. As for Hoppe, he didn’t fair any better in the SPL so I’m thinking he’ll be offered back to the MLS or maybe just cancel his contract.

Our wingback situation definitely could be improved next season with the return of Fisher and Coulson but don’t hold your breath on Fisher who will need a lot of time to get match experience and show that he’s ready to battle.
