People sh*tting their pants in August again

Warnock would have..

————--——Dieng——————
———Lenihan—Fry—McNair——
——————Howson——————
Jones—Barlaser—Hackney—Engle
——————McGree——————
——————Latte Laff—————-

Woodgate too!
It would certainly be back to basics for Neil, he would have Jones, Crooks and McNair in the side and so would I 👍

I think it is fair for people to express their opinion after winning 1 point in a possible 12 from a starting run of games that is not particularly difficult on paper. I also don’t consider that sh***ing themselves, it’s just speaking a reality.

To label this start as anything but terrible would be false. It’s been really awful.

I will continue to back Carrick and trust the system, but my word even I have been shocked by how bad it’s been, and I like to think I saw this coming.

There's a big difference between s***ing themselves and recognising that there are deficiencies within our playing staff and tactics. It's pointless playing well for 3 months in the middle of the season, recruiting badly then sacking the manager and starting again with a different playing style around October.

Carrick is new to management. He's going through his first ever period of poor play week after week and he doesn't seem to know how to turn it around. It will happen and he'll be better for it next time it happens. I don't think anyone is seriously suggesting getting rid of him.

Depending on what happens this week with transfers I'd like him to change his system to suit the players he has instead of trying to force players into a system that they can't play. If anything, having different options to play instead of being the same every week makes it more difficult for teams to plan against.

I am happy to wait several years if there is a plan. Just reacting, making ad hoc transfers and switching managers and playing styles until we get lucky I am less enthusiastic about.

do you want changes on a whim, root and branch reform, constant upheaval and disruption
You've described exactly what we've had for the last 15 years. One common denominator.

You seem to have been suckered into accepting bargain basement signings as 'developing young talent'.

It's never going to change while Gibson owns the club.

What is it about this that you don’t understand @newyddion

‘ We have been on a poor run for around 14/15 games including last season. ‘
You can’t include last season!!

If folks are going to insist on this then we need to take into consideration why we didn’t make the cut.. the loan players.. they fell off.. either injured or with their eyes on a different prize.

They did not come up with the goods.

THIS season, we are still in the process of putting a squad together with the aim of promotion.

No more short term shop window displays, we raised the profile of 3 brummies and doubled, trippled, quadrupled their fees with nothing more than to show got it than winning a few games 3-0 instead of 1-0

THIS season, easier said than done to bring in directly employed staff. I do think we have replaced the players loaned in.. now is the chance to improve the squad by replacing fringe players with experienced ones.

Let’s see how we get on in the window before slagging off our recruitment and let’s see how we get on after actually playing 14/15 games instead of pretending we have after 4

So.. after losing Akpom, Archer, Giles, Ramsey etc.. we should immediately be churning out 3 points per game?

35 points after 23 games would be 1.5ppg and show we were on track for a play off position.. after 23 games.. before the January window.

9 goals conceded in 4 games this season, the only team in the Championship to not have led at any point.

Can't defend, can't score enough to make up for it anymore.

Small surprise Boro fans are upset about Boro not doing well.

That's just going off this season, this run has been going on since April.

We're not conceding these goals because we sold Akpom or because we didn't re-sign Archer, it's down to coaching and the players that are already here.

Gibbo has been at the helm for 30 years next year
He gave us some great times

The second half of his tenure has been simply awful
2008-2023 - fifteen seasons,
two seasons in the prem, eight top ten finishes, one playoff final, two more play off semis.. Negredo, De Roon, Ramirez, Traore, Akpom, Archer, Ramsey..

Big players, big moments

the lowest moments?
finishing 16th under Mowbray after Strachan
finishing 17th under Warnock after Monk and Pullis..

Victories over Man Utd, Man City, Spurs, Brighton.. special moments.

What have Sunderland been up to? What have Newcastle won?

Who is the team that you would rather go see?
