Careful, keep that quiet, you might find yourself drafted in at wing back if things don’t improve soonI am, eighty next month and could still do a lap around the Riverside, no bother.

He does mean 1982/3.Guessing he means the start of the season in 1982.
We didn't win a single game until the 16th of October, 9 league matches and 1 cup match before that point.
Interesting you should mention Cheltenham. They are on the verge of breaking the Football League record for the longest time after the start of the season without scoring a goal. If they don't score in the first eleven minutes of their next game they have the record.600 quid to use your phone to gain entry on a Tuesday night in January verses Cheltenham......
Death of a thousand cuts I guess. A final realisation that nothing will change for the better, that there is no alternative way; that hope is wasted on incompetence. At what price point would those 'diehards' draw the line at renewing?
It’s all relative to what you think you can afford isn’t it?At what price point would those 'diehards' draw the line at renewing?
I agree. It is the routine, the social event, the coming together that I go for. Bringing generations together, family and friends together. It's the emotional bit that keeps me going, sometimes despite the football. It’s all relative to what you think you can afford isn’t it?
Have I paid too much based on the football I’ve witnessed so far this season? It certainly feels like it.
Could I afford the season ticket costs this season? Yes.
Would I pay the same again next season? I probably would.
As previously mentioned, a match day is also a day I meet up with friends and family who also go to the game. It’s the one consistent event which happens where we all get together before or after a match.
There are other things involved that don’t make it a direct comparison against Cost vs. Product. If that was the case, it’d be hard to justify most renewals based on some of the football we’ve watched since Southgate’s relegation season.
I’d imagine there’s quite a few season ticket holders that wish they hadn’t bought a season ticket at the rip off prices the club put them on sale for..
Do you think you’re getting value for money?Rip off prices
cheapest SC costs more than many PL clubs. Tell me how it's not a rip off.Rip off prices
I don’t think it is relative to what you can afford but more so whether you think the value of the product is worth paying the price. It’s all relative to what you think you can afford isn’t it?

That’s fair enough and it’s different for everybody. People make their own personal choices based on circumstances and opinion. Not everyone who attends goes for the same reasons I also do. You make the decision that’s best for you.I don’t think it is relative to what you can afford but more so whether you think the value of the product is worth paying the price.
I can understand the value of intangible’s you place on going to the game. I get that. I can comfortably afford a season ticket but I choose not to because I don’t think the price meets the value for me personally. That stems from not just the price but the product.
Football is unique in its elasticity but I’m now at a point in my life where I place a higher value on other aspects of my life so that pricing elasticity doesn’t effect me as much as say a besotted 18 year old travelling home and away with his mates.
I feel like the club take the ****, so they don’t get my custom in the form of a season ticket anymore. I pick and choose my games now so obviously that breaking price point as well as the club and the product they’ve produced came at a lower price than it may for others.
In respect to the relativity of whether you be an afford it, I’ve worked for a few people that have a lot of money and they’re some of the most frugal that I’ve met. They will refuse to pay for something if they don’t think it’s worth what it’s priced at.
That team would destroy this teamThis season feels like 1989/90 - something isn't quite right - that season we felt we were a top 6 club - Mogga, Rippers, Pearsy, Coops, Parky, Bernie, Hammy, Nookie Bear - all still there and got us promoted in 1988, but we went into the last game of the season in the bottom 3.
