I wonder how much the bungs were to the Australian FA executives to vote to withdraw. Now that Australia have pulled out of the bid it leaves just one candidate.
Today is the deadline

Thousands more migrant deaths incoming.Saudi Arabia clear to host 2034 World Cup after Australia drops out
Saudi Arabia was left as a shoo-in to host the 2034 World Cup after Australia confirmed it would not make a bid for soccer's global showpiece on Tuesday's deadline day.www.reuters.com
There's quite a few countries would disagree with that, us for instance.Too much corruption. Nobody else has the will to host it or the money to fund it.
Perfect in Australia of courseI think most World Cups are heading for a December tournament as its just getting too hot round the world in June/July to host it.

Jeddah, Riyadh and Dahran? Can't think of any more, unless they plan on sticking a stadium inside Neom.Without wishing to detract from the fact this is a travesty of a system with corruption at its core, Saudi Arabia does at least have one major difference to Qatar, in that it is a large country with several cities capable of hosting an event of the size of the World Cup. The thing that really got me about Qatar (and my Dad used to work on construction sites there in the 2000's and had a really tough job trying to impose Western standards of safety, so I'm not forgetting that aspect) was that the Country has one city, and not a particularly sizeable one - it was like awarding a World Cup to Birmingham or Munich.
Presumably it will have to be a Winter World Cup again also.
World war 3?Why ?
I can see the pundits making hay from quips about the 'Mecca' of football (pop: 2.1 million)Jeddah, Riyadh and Dahran? Can't think of any more, unless they plan on sticking a stadium inside Neom.
Why was it a farce? After the farce that was Qatar, FIFA would do well to somehow block this.
Sportswashing for this disgusting regime shouldn't be allowed.

You mean the multiple broken promises, the multiple arrests for displaying Pride flags that actually turned out to be either national or state flags or the random assaults by police and marshals on people video recording around the stadiums. That well run event? Why was it a farce?
One of the best world cups in a long time, well organised, hardly any trouble and the people that i know had nothing but to say good things about the place and how smooth it went
The tournament itself was an excellent tournament, I'm referring to the fact it went to a non-footballing country, the stadiums were largely deconstructed and there were hundreds and hundreds of deaths of immigrant workers to build them. Why was it a farce?
