Read up why Labour abandoned its candidate.Pointless stat IMO given that Labour abandoned the candidate. You can hardly call it a Labour vote.
It's all to do with Israel.

Extremism, hatred and division is extremism, hatred and division. It doesn't really have a left and rightI thought Griffin was right wing and Galloway left wing
Sour grapes. Here come the completely irrelevant Corbyn comparisons

He's happy that a left wing extremist who latched onto moslem anti-Israel sentiment beat a (Labour) candidate who'd had all support removed from the Party (essentially disowned). He won't endorse the 'winner' personally though because that would expose his own position. What are you happy about here Roofie, that Galloway won or that the "Labour" vote disappeared?

Good stats and you are right - some worth highlighting
I've always thought if ever some politicians worked for the intelligent services its Mr Galloway, he is 1 of 3 imho, the others being Benn and Corbyn, always make for fascinating reading.Galloway or Gorgeous George as he used the be known is a very interesting character. He does know an awful lot about the middle east and was right about a lot of things pre Iraq war. A US senate committee tried to nail him but he made mincemeat of those hearings showing up the committees bias and lack of knowledge.
I don't agree with is politics, but pleased that he's back.
Unlike Starmer, whose major sponsors are Israel.I may be wrong, but wasn't Galloway suspended from the Labour Party when he was an MP, for having a Middle East paymaster for whom he was doing much lobbying in Westminster.

Starmer will put a saucer of milk out for him, that'll keep him quietI remember him from Big Brother he's been on the radio about half hour ago on the way home tonight. He's saying he's the new MP for Rochdale after tonight and he is going to shake the foundations of Parliament . He's said he is going to put both leaders to shame and they will be trembling when he walks through the doors. I didn't realise he was still going in politics I thought the cat milk licking thing finished him off. I know through reading the board in the past a lot of you do politics so is he going to make any difference to anything at all. I heard he was going to take Rochdale FC back to the big time also, That's if he does win the vote today. How's he going to take them back to the big time is he loaded? Maybe he will become the new chairman
It's a unique constituency situation so it's very difficult to read any meaning from it. I think the one thing that Starmer should take away from it is that it does show that his only strategy of not being the Tories isn't enough to win an election on its own. Everyone knows that the majority of the country don't want the Tories to win so they will vote for another party. Starmer has so far refused to give anyone a reason to vote for Labour so there is a risk that there are situations like this Galloway one where individual constituencies can be swayed away from Labour to vote for someone that is offering something. If the Tories can hold enough of their votes and the "not Tory" votes are split then the Tories win.
