It’s some sort of hellscape for me, is it deliberately bad/intended to make me feel anxious?
Adblocker plus works well for me on an Android.not sure about the Gazette but this site is really bad for me with adverts atm is there a decent free adblocker for android or something that at least reduces the number of ads
There’s very little local news in it anymore, the reporters work on laptops at home and send stuff into a hub in Newcastle or Leeds or somewhere so you could have stories from there.No. Gave up a couple of years ago.
They sold out real journalism for clicks and then made a system where they can’t get clicks as people can’t access.
Good riddance when it disappears down the drain. An aspect of what has driven Teesside to the sorry state it is currently in.
Posting mini headlines mainly on Social media to make you think “oh I want to read that” and go on the website. Their journos get paid per click I thinkWhen people say click bait, what does this actually mean? I regularly visit the gazette app to catch up on local headlines but only click on the item if it is of interest to myself, by me clicking on some articles do they know how many people have clicked on the news story? Is this click bait or am totally way off?
The app isn't fine anymore, I used to use it. It now lets you read a few for free then you have to subscribe for a few a month or an annual feeThe app is fine, the website (even with an ad-blocker) is absolutely horrendous.
But as has been said, the content that is on there isn't worth reading anyway.
Clickbait is usually where the title is eithe sensationalised or misleading to make you click itWhen people say click bait, what does this actually mean?
