I'd like to be Thomas Midgley Jr and the day he invented what he was most renowned for, I'd be thinking.

Sod it, its a nice day and I'm going for a walk, this isn't important.
 
The internet? Jeez. The wheel?

I would uninvent Religion too, as bb6872 above.

Hi Ebor, I don't think access to unqualified information by those not quite educated enough to understand the difference between fact, opinion and intelligence results in a " better" world.
Look at the political world now compared to 30-40 years ago. I know if wasn't perfect ,and we had our share of disinformation , but the internet seems perfect as a tool to spread a false or misleading narrative.
It seems to me a lot of people mistake information for knowledge.
as my daughters tea mug says " please do not mistake your Google search for my medical degree"
