Shocking scenes in Bristol tonight

Did you say the same when Thatcher demonised football fans, as violent racist thugs who can't behave themselves so need to all be behind fences? Did you think that maybe it was a small section of football fans that were violent, and that it wasn't football that was the underlying cause but the lack of opportunity they faced? Same here, most people in support of BLM, and green causes, and against authoritarian laws are not violent, and their message and right to vote shouldn't be diminished, just as our right to watch football shouldn't have been impacted the way it was.
There were some horrific incidents around football in the 80's. Overall things have improved that's undeniable.

But she we all have been treated like cattle, should all fans have been called thugs, should 96 fans have not been able to get out of their enclosure. Yes the 80s hooligan scene was appalling, but it was a small section of fans. Same here, don't demonise any progressive just for the actions of a few.

They improved consistently from the mid 90s on and then all that work has been undone in the last decade.

Again what have the Tories achieved in their decade of power?

I depise most of the current administration but there will be a special hatred in me for Patel. She is stupid, opinionated and heartless.

I can only think she has dirt on Boris and co because there is no good reason why she has any sort of actual role in government given her record.
You could say that about any of the current **** show of a government (n)

Has anyone here been in a violent crowd. ? Were you scared or was it fun ? Did you stay and join in or did you just wish to get away

The nearest I have probably been was 1988 Chelsea Boro . I was scared. The most scary was seeing the faces of families and kids in the Boro end with genuine look of fear.
I think they were protesting about getting beat.

I was angry that the police were non-existant to protect.

Well in a nutshell what happened was this. The country was on its knees and the silent majority voted to do something about it via the ballot box. You will get your chance in 2024.
Complete deflection again. Discuss the matter in hand and tell me why it seems to be that mass protests, civil disobedience and racial equality calls only seem to happen when your beloved Tories are in power?

Deflection again. Just remind me about those 1979 riots will you?
No riots just mass unemployment, coffins on the streets along with the bins and how we enjoyed the power cuts. Having been through the constant strikes and having no money due to close shop rules and strikes please forgive me for having a hatred of Liebour and all they stand for. Regardless who is in power they are all as bad as each other and in it for themselves.

People are conditioned to condemn protesters these days. There will always be bad actors in any protest but genuinely this new bill is a travesty and we should be protesting it. Its the biggest attack on civil liberty in a generation and the so called right 'bastions of freedom and free speach' should be protesting with them. Instead most of the Tory supporters are defending the government and attacking the protesters.
When you park a boat in a busy London Street and stop people earning a living by disrupting their right to travel in freedom then it cannot be allowed to repeat this summer. I say summer because it seems to have turned in to some kind of street party. It does look like most there don't need to worry about earning a living.
After reading a summary of the bill I don't see anything that takes away people right to protest in a non-violent way.

Could someone point me to the clause which is particularly upsetting them ?

They are not all as bad as each other, that's just a cop out, usually to justify voting for the present shower of shyte
