I do feel he’s been built up massively by the media and the public and if he doesn’t look like a superstar or England don’t look vastly improved with him on, some are going to be underwhelmed.

I think he’s a very good player though and hope he has a great game. We know the public and media like to knock folk down after a build up.

I mean , Harry Kane is suddenly being spoken about like he’s rubbish because he hasn’t scored in 2 games. I wonder if the French are wanting to drop Benzema and Mbappe because they haven’t scored either.

Yeah if he has quiet game I expect a massive backlash which will be wrong but typical of the English football public. I do hope he has a great game though. He can light up this tournament.

Not sure what Sancho has to do. His stats last season were incredible. Our best wide player on paper. And yet he's not getting a sniff.

Some German news reporters are flabbergasted at the omission of Sancho, especially when we've scored 1 goal all tournament and have created virtually sod all.
 
Grealish... Bit like when someones been injured or left out for us and they suddenly become Pele. He's good but the clamouring for him to start is rather over the top.

Saka starting over Sancho is mental, Sancho deserves a shot after a great season.

Defence looms strong. Front 4 can cause problems plenty of pace and creativity around Kane. Hopefully Phillips has a good game as he did in the first. Can’t overly complain at that team

Agree it maybe over the top, but what have we got to lose? We offered next to nothing going forward against Scotland, a team which are average at best.

I agree he should start but i just think the build up he's getting is very over the top. Looking forward to seeing how he does though (y)

Any reason why Jadon Sancho is nowhere to be seen? This is a lad with more goals and assists than any other English wide player in the squad. It's baffling why Saka will play instead.

I personally would play Foden the left of the midfield three, Grealish wide left of the front three and Sancho wide right.

Unless he has a little injury we're not aware of, then the fact Sancho can't get in ,ahead of Saka, remains a mystery.
 
I can see this being a 'Sterling v Croatia egg on face moment' - log back on FMTTM at 10pm tonight after watching Saka score the winner.
 
As we’ve already qualified for the next round it’s hard to see anything tactical changing— so it doesn’t matter who comes in will not effect the difference to how Gareth wants us to play — it’s going to be slow and ponderous

I know fans don't have the full details and never can, but unless an injury is the case why even have Sancho in the squad. I'm sure I heard Gary Linekar state last night that German media have stated England must have outstanding players if Sancho hasn't played any minutes yet.
