I’d rather have an owner who didn’t have an appalling human rights record. Pretty sure SG never ordered a hit on the likes of Kashoggi, I’d be ashamed if they took over the Boro.
Whilst it may not be immediately obvious where the profits come from, I do believe they are doing this to generate a 'return' on their investment. Newcastle have just been bought for somewhere in the region of £300 million. If you take the Man Utd route of leveraging, then the new owners will only have put up a fraction of this and borrowed the rest. This debt will then be transferred onto the club and repayments made out of the sky / TV money. The owners will also take a dividend each year which will be much greater than they can earn from interest / stock purchases. To me the billionaire owner seem to buy the clubs as a status symbol like the miss World girlfriend, the flash cars, helicopters and yachts. It's not for profit as being a football owner isn't a profitable one as seen by many owners, they have no real affiliation to the clubs so what happens when/if they get bored with the club? The club is fully in the hands of someone with no affiliation or passion for the club so if they did get bored with it, they could sell everything off(stadium, training ground ect ect) to recoup some money then just basically close it down, they have that much money that in theory once the novelty wears off they could just get rid without losing any sleep over it or worrying about the fans. I'm not saying this will happen but it would always be a concern of mine if we where owned by an owner with no links to the club.
She owns 10% same as David and Simon Reuben. She has been a fan since 2017 and will have a seat on the Board. What’s ‘part owner’ Amanda Stavely’s role in all this? And how big a part has she got?
It will all end in tears. Mark my words.
So the Saudi’s have bought 80% and in the process massively upped the value of her stake, or was her 10% effectively her commission for sorting the deal? She owns 10% same as David and Simon Reuben. She has been a fan since 2017 and will have a seat on the Board.
for every Man City or Chelsea, there are ten Notts Forrests, Porstmouths, and other clubs that foreign ownership has been disastrous in the long termThat’s what they said about Man City
Will they become the most dominant club in the country? Probably not but in a few years they will be competing with big sides, or at least in a much better position than now.
Money talks. They simply have enough money to attract good players and managers, that’s all it comes down to.
In fairness. Those clubs with failed models didn't have £290 billion backing them.for every Man City or Chelsea, there are ten Notts Forrests, Porstmouths, and other clubs that foreign ownership has been disastrous in the long term
I agree 100%, but so many times , rich owners does not mean rich clubs. In fairness. Those clubs with failed models didn't have £290 billion backing them.

This is just rubbishWe wouldn’t attract major investment anyway. Crowds too low, debt too high, the amount of money needed would mean there’s far more attractive clubs than us.
You reckon? Take your rose tinted specs off and come back with a cohesive argument. We nearly get 20000 these days, to break this largely reliant on a good away following as our walk up numbers are poor. This is just rubbish
The debt will be written off at some point, when HMRC tells Steve Gibson he either has to collect it or write it off.You reckon? We lose significant sums of money every season adding to the £120 million plus debt. I can’t see many plus points for anyone to buy us
