Isaiah Jones new contract

Brilliant news 👏

We were just chatting about this last week at work as his contract was up in the summer.

It's fully deserved. It will be interesting to see where Wilder plays him (winger or wingback).

I'm a sucker for the 'old school' none league players doing well.

I actually think he could make a decent right wing back if thats the formation Wilder goes with. His tracking back and pace when closing players down is phenomenal.

Perhaps I'm an eternal optimist but I'm really feeling good about our new path . Things are clicking all of a sudden and I suspect we're going to emerge from our wilderness albeit not immediately 😃

Ps credit to Pulis and NW for shaking us down and ejecting the leaches and hangers on ( Gestede etc ) and steadying our ship. It was on the whole not pretty to watch but nonetheless necessary

Who was the lad at Chelsea a few years back who was a forward/wide right, who was converted to play right side in their 3-4-3? Was it under Conte?

As you say, he has plenty of great attributes for the role. The positioning, responsibility and moving up and down as/with the defensive unit can be coached into him by Wilder I'm sure.

I agree. Didn't look out of his depth on the few appearances under Warnock in that role.

I'm sure Wilders wingbacks are actually 'wingbacks' with less importance on defending. That's maybe a key selling point for Spence to return.

Well when Boro were at West Brom , Wilder was watching Spence playing for Forest - says a lot about his plans
