No, it's just that they aren't used for genetic sequencing. All they give you is a positive or negative result. If that's all you need that's fine.So LFT's have always been worthless?
Also shopping you are constantly on the move, in hospitality you tend to be in one place for the majority of the timeOr could it be the fact that masks in hospitality settings didn't make one jot if difference given you need to have access to your mouth to eat and drink which a mask prevents.
I don't disagree witg acting quickly, I don't the government credit for much but I'm pleased to see them acting quickly for once. My frustrations are this; firstly, there has been no clear, unambiguous messaging from the useless loon we call a PM and he still won't talk straight preferring to muddy the waters just so he feels he hasn't lost face.I'm one of Johnson's most fierce critics but I'm not sure what those moaning on here expect the Government to do, other than what they have.
They have toughened up on travel and introduced testing and isolation. They have reintroduced masks. They are tracking and tracing the new variant (I know T&T is crap but it's all we have currently).
I think we should be happy that they are acting quickly this time. The India carry on last time was a farce. At least we are taking action. And in 3 weeks we'll know how bad Omicron is.
Hopefully it doesn't hospitalise people and we can just continue as we were with the addition of masks or something.
I agree with you sentiment. They acted quicker than they have before.I'm one of Johnson's most fierce critics but I'm not sure what those moaning on here expect the Government to do, other than what they have.

Secondly, they have made no announcements on timescales in regards to compulsory PCR tests and when they become effective, leaving people like me who are stuck abroad and travelling today not sure what the correct process is. Likewise with compulsory face masks in shops, when is it happening?
Strong leadership is being direct, clear and not misleading in any way. He has never demonstrated that.
Just to be a little picky it was 5pm on Saturday and the Government already has the powers to introduce this without a vote.It was only announced 5pm on Sunday. I'd say it's reasonable that it has to go to Parliament on Monday to be voted on and then it will be formally announced and come into action.
Johnson should have given a time scale but I bet we'll know more by 12pm on Monday. So sub 24 hours won't be bad.

This timescale is an improvement on that implemented previously but there was nothing stopping Johnson making a clear and concise announcement yesterday.
Of course. Thats par.Just landed at Newcastle and not a single security check, no passport checks, nothing to check your vaccination status. Literally straight through.
I’m flying from there tomorrow and still none the wiser to what I have to do.Just landed at Newcastle and not a single security check, no passport checks, nothing to check your vaccination status. Literally straight through.
Where are you flying to and how long are you away for?I’m flying from there tomorrow and still none the wiser to what I have to do.
Denmark. Come home on Friday.Where are you flying to and how long are you away for?
I'd double check the entry requirements for Denmark to make sure they haven't changed or been amended too.Denmark. Come home on Friday.
I’ve just seen the above post about this coming in on Tuesday. Should be able to get your money back on the LFTs or at least part exchange them
What he is doing is purely a political decision. Nothing to do with public health. If it benefited him to do nothing and let more people die he would do so. He simply knows he can't get away with that again so has to make some gestures. He is an amoral degenerate.I'm one of Johnson's most fierce critics but I'm not sure what those moaning on here expect the Government to do, other than what they have.

Thankfully as long as you’re double vaccinated there is no need for a test or isolation.I'd double check the entry requirements for Denmark to make sure they haven't changed or been amended too.
In October I used one in Darlington and got the results a day later. Assured Screening. Are there any 2 day walk-ins around Teesside? If it's a postal, then you're looking at 4 days before being released?
