Wilders mackem presser ...

We should be asking the same question of Scott, what has he been doing, is he up to the job? He’s the one who has failed badly to deliver in the transfer market not CW! He should be the one facing the press and answering the questions regarding what went wrong.
That’s Gibson’s job

I don't think Wilder will rely on on the questions asked. I think he will be blunt on how he will feel let down.

However the problem with this is the impact on the players he does have. He doesn't mind putting them down if it protects him.

He does have a very good squad. He has some players he either won't play or won't play in certain positions. So he makes the situation worse and makes the squad look worse than it is.

A good example is Hackney. He looked as good as anyone in pre season. But not even worth of a bench with no midfielders on it. That is Wilder making a choice and sending a message.

He clearly doesn't like our young players. He had a slight dig about their attitude in his Watford press conference - went on about how keen Muniz is compared to our academy players. Why do that?

I am losing faith in Wilder and I wouldn't be too surprised or upset if he left soon. I assume Scott would have plans in place as when Wilder replaced Warnock.

All the games before the international break are very winnable. Wilder needs to get on with his job and sort things out. Or ship out.

Our young players that some are now turning their attentions to as suitable first team squad members and contributors to the first team got dumped out of the cup at home to lower league Barnsley.

They're nowhere near good enough for the Championship at all, never mind in a squad or team trying to get promoted.

Do you think Boyd-Munce, Bilongo, Hackney, Gibson, Dodds and Finch would get anywhere near Watford, Burnley or Norwich's squad?

Not a chance.

Pinning hopes on young kids that aren't ready or not good enough is papering over the cracks of not being effective in the transfer market.

I do wonder if Wilder's reluctance to play Hoppe, and more so Forss, is part of the reason we haven't signed anyone else. There is clearly something going on, and its affected whats happening on the pitch. As well as we've played in spells, there seems a lack of togetherness at the minute. Dread to think what it will be like if we don't win on Monday.

The manager should decide who he wants and the recruitment team then get them in. Old fashioned I know, but we've gone nowhere since we've moved to this current way of working. Look at the rubbish that last recruitment bloke brought in.
Whilst I agree, we let Warnock sign Ikpeazu, Hall, Olusanya, Lumley, Ameobi, Morsy, Mendez-Laing etc. Mind you "the club" signed Sporar, Siliki, Payero so difficult to say which way is best.

I mean at what point dare someone question sir Steve - over the years he’s invested enough money to smash the league but it seems the strategic decision making at the club is flawed. Other teams with the same resources and opportunities would romp the league.

The most frustrating thing is we always seem to stop short of getting the players we need window after window.

Some of them are clearly ready. Playing them all together is not what I'm suggesting.

From what I saw pre season and against Barnsley I would have Hackney, Dodds, Bilongo, and Finch involved in the first team squad. They could all do a job and help with rotation and subs in games.

But Wilder won't so we will never know if they are good enough to support the first team players.

Finch was on bench at qpr, but played crooks as a forward rather than bringing Sonny on.
Our 2nd half pressure dropped at that point, and momentum was lost.
Think some of our 'benches' this season have been seen as a nudge to Scott, Bowser and Gibson that squad depth is very short

But Barnsley was a team packed with those kids. Introducing one or two as part of wholly more experienced starting line up would obviously aid their transition if they really are good enough.

Hackney and Finch looked miles off it against Barnsley.

A League One side.

Dodds and Bilongo are in positions where we don't need kids to fill gaps.

gonna be interesting .... hope he can contain himself .... journos must have some probing questions ....
Tomorrow morning at 9am.
Gazette do not do what they are told BUT they ask the questions they want answers for. And it is possible there will only be one or two journalists that can make it. 9am Saturday morning is not going to be possible for everyone.
Usually there are only 3 or 4 reporters present in total.

I don't know. It should be my 400th parkrun, which represents a lot of years of running, so am torn.

I'll go if you can't, Rob.

I think a lot of Boro fans are very interested in what Wilder's assessment is of our transfer window as a whole.

The journos don't ask the right questions, they're pretty bland and boring really.

The questioning is chronic in the press conferences. Absolutely no relevance to what the fans want to know, which essentially is what the press conference is for, for the club to talk to the fans.
The tv is there for a 30 second sound bite. Often then there is only the Gazette. BBC Tees has a separate earlier interview.
The Gazetre reporter is asking what he wants for his articles.
