Wilders mackem presser ...

I don’t want Wilder gone. Scott on the other hand should be out on his àrse for delivering us a centre midfield of Crooks Howson Mowatt Mcgree for the season.

Until January. Or until a free agent comes in.

There does seem to be this sort of sense that some people are loving the ‘drama’ of the past few days TBH. People thriving on it. The reality is much more boring. The gaffer is a bit miffed he lost Tav and he hasn’t been replaced. He’d like another couple of players in. That’s the long and short of it. Every manager across the land thinks the same thing, bar maybe Guardiola and Klopp.

Reading between the lines and all the rest of it, it’s just noise. Conjecture. Seeing stuff they want to see even if it isn’t really there. Hoping someone loses their job so they can moan about it, slag it all off, and switch focus onto the person or thing. It’s time to focus on the football now anyway. And not before time. People are obsessed with the transfer market in a really weird and unhealthy way these days IMO.

Thought Robs questions where spot on. Time to kind of draw a line under the window and galvanise the team to move on now.

Really glossing over things Viv.
Nobody can say what will happen as a result of the window re Wilder, but it is crystal clear he is more than a bit miffed.
He dealt with the sessions brilliantly, really professionally. He didn't duck anything. He didn't throw any player under a bus, he didn't alienate any of his squad (bar Payero).
He just didn't say how miffed he really is, for obvious reasons of not wanting to create unrest in his squad.

Season could be done by then or at least chances scuppered. Rinse and repeat from last year. The frustrating thing is that manager and those above claim to have a strategy to address it but end up repeating obvious faux pas’s.

He sounds like he accepts the players brought in are what he’s got and will now get on with working with the players
He shouldnt have to accept it if the club were prepared to pay 7-8M for larsen then the least the could buy would be some half decent championship midfielders. Clearly money wasn't the issue so why did we fail to bring in the midfielders wilder wanted.

I used to always say that "we will sort it out in January" but when have we ever sorted anything out in January? I know that's probably not specific to us but January is awful.

McGree is probably the only decent player we've signed in January in quite a while and most fans think he's crap anyway. You're probably going back to 2016 with Ramirez for the last time we did anything meaningful in January.

Wish I had the choice of direct access to CW to ask the questions everyone on this board wants to know the answers to……. or a jog around a park…… but good luck ….. whatever your decision.
Knob head. Who the hell are you to suggest someone gives up something they want to do just because you want them to be somewhere else. Entitled prik

What did he say about free agents, then?

“We’re light in a certain area, and we’re just going to have to get on with it,” said Wilder, whose side return to action when they host North-East rivals Sunderland at the Riverside on Monday. “That’s how it is.

“We’ll have a little peek at the free transfer list, which isn’t ideal, but it’s a job for myself and the coaching staff, in terms of trying to strengthen the group to try to make us better and stronger, and make us able to cope with certain situations and scenarios that might occur.

“There is going to have to be a peek at that. It’s not going to be ideal, but there might be something that drops out for us. So, yet again, the work doesn’t stop.

“The squad just lacks a little bit of depth in a certain position, that’s all. We've got to work hard on that out-of-contract list and hopefully somebody will be floating about that’s maybe ended their contract that might become available and that will be great. But that’s all.”

I can't remember writing this 🥃. My apologies
I wouldn’t apologise for what you sent. I don’t think it’s offensive…..only like calling someone a negative nelly.

Personally I think there a few happy clappers knocking around on this board, who don’t believe any criticism (constructive or any other variant) should be aimed at certain personnel at the club. Good luck to them with that, it’s their prerogative.
