That's largely because he hung around long enough in the same league, ie nobody else wanted him at an average price and with those wages, with little competition for a long time for his place who could actually get a game ahead of him, in part down to crap other options such as Gestede and crap managers such as the Monk. So he played the vast majority of games in a season, with seasons involving 46 games, not 38, against champo opposition, which puts all our strikers who played at Prem level (half of our Riverside history) at a major disadvantage of achieving such an accolade, as well as a lot of our champo ones who got us up under AK or didn't play for us as long.
