Today's Ref

My son said before kick off that the ref was a wrong un. And the linesman on the East Stand side had a nightmare against Leeds and was no better today. Offered nothing to support the ref at all and by all accounts got our disallowed goal wrong.

Terrible, didn’t want to give anything. Don’t blame him for us not winning, but really poor for both sides imho.

I thought he was absolutely excellent them really allowed them to do exactly what they wanted in how they played the game.

He was truly awful.

Today was almost a perfect storm of a game for being frustrated if he had disallowed both of our goals he would have achieved that.

Now tell me again how the woman referee we had earlier in the season only gets a game because of "tokenism", given the standard of male referees is so high and she obviously can't reach those dizzying heights.

I don't remember many people whining about her, thought she did an alright job.

We do seem to get a lot of **** refs though and they've all been male

We have had some absolute numpties but this ref today must rank as the worse of the worse. Todays decisions cost us two valuable points with a wrongly called offside goal, ? Penalty shouts, the goalkeepers blatant missed red card outside his goal, and the crème de la crème Jordan Hugills push on Jones which everyone in the stadium saw but him.

The standard of refereeing is woeful and managers like Carrick after todays decisions must be livid. It can cost them their jobs. It can cost clubs millions of pounds in losing out of potential promotion, and is so demoralising for players and fans alike.

I have started to set my expectations of the officials by their height. The short ones, like today just want to be the centre of it all. Inconsistent decisions for similar tackles outside the box and not strong enough to make decisions in the box.
