This Crooks transfer

It kind of makes nonsense of the holding on to Paddy. We sell Crooks and Rodgers because we want to get the best price maybe, while we know that we’ll have a drop off in goals and assists. Meanwhile Paddy could have easily been sold off and replaced during the summer window which doesn’t make sense to me. What it does tell me is that MC hasn’t got a say on the transfer policy or the players he wants to keep or leave.

I’m sure the fans wil vote with their feet and we’ll see a half empty stadium very shortly. Crazy decisions by the executives will have consequences. Fans are not stupid.
How much was the bid we turned down for Mcnair?

If we're being honest we know that we aren't a top 6 team this season and it makes more sense to keep our powder dry for the summer.
We're certainly not top 6 material that's for sure but whether we are keeping our powder dry is a different matter. The cynic in me thinks that the first thing we do in the summer is sell another player we'd probably all wish we could keep.

Don't see what all the fuss is about tbh.
I think you need to take it in the context of Boro having a poor incoming transfer window (attacking wise anyhow), witnessing the calamity of the first 45 minutes on Saturday and not having the option of bringing on a player like Crooks to shake things up a bit.

The first 45 minutes against Bristol City is the worst I and many have witnessed in a long time.

We should be making more of our academy.. making them more visible to the fans..

31 Nathan Simpson
35 Max Howells
36 Ajay Matthews
39 Terrell Agyemang
46 Jack Hannah
49 Law McCabe
52 AJ Bridge

Crooks wouldn't have been in the starting eleven, so the first half would've been exactly the first half we suffered. The second half (without Crooks) was considerably better, invalidating your argument that he was needed to "shake things up".

Who knows? wasn’t there interest from a serie A club? As we know, the club has been very covert on signings so whatever interest there might have been recently will have been kept quiet but maybe they missed the boat on selling him so now we’re selling Crooks and Rodgers to make up for it. lol 😆

We'll have to agree to disagree. I didn't say he would have been in the starting eleven, I was referring to him coming off the bench. Yes the 2nd half was better but we were still beaten so I'm not sure how being 'better' invalidates my argument that his presence could have made our performance 'much better' i.e. we achieve a draw or a win.

For sure we will, or at least that's our model, so it's a possibility.

Bring in hungry young talents, nurture and develop them, seek for a profit, rinse and repeat.

As part of that strategy our best players will leave of course, but then they always did, the key difference is at the recruitment end.

Como in Serie B came in for McNair in the summer - They had a few ties to English football and were linked with a few players in the PL and championship. The owner was/is Michael Essien's wife. Dennis Wise was director of football, and a few of their shareholders included Thierry Henry and Cesc Fabregas....

"Something happened" (don't know what) and I don't think they have those ties anymore.
