Happy St Patricks Day

How many posts until one of our right wing brethren pops along and suggests we should not celebrate this because it’s Irish and we are English?
Not right wing but i dont celebrate it. Don't really know why I should. Hate Guiness and don't like daft green hats. Do like The Pogues, Horselips Undertones and numerous other Irish bands though.

I was on a stag do in a sports bar in Chicago yesterday that was draped in Irish tricolors and packed with people decked top to toe in green (everyone in America seems to claim Irish heritage).

We managed to persuade the bar staff to put the rugby on one of the screens. The scenes of jubilation from the packed "Irish" crowd as their nation secured a famous victory to clinch the 6 Nations was amazing in its complete and utter absence.

We could have had today as a bank holiday - one of my favourite policies from Corbyn's era as Labour leader. 🤷‍♂️ Sadly too many preferred to be governed by May and Boris.

Had a Guinness Zero yesterday without even realising it was St Patrick’s day. Possibly some supernatural forces at work there, definitely not just down to the fact there was some in the fridge and not a lot else.

What do we do to celebrate St. George’s Day, No surrender?

Etc etc
How long before someone suggests it?
Turns out it took 4 posts.
