I watched it last night….unbelievable
. Crooksy done well But my god, the weather! Comedy gold….the match got stopped for the strongest wind ever….then restarted…
And…then stopped for lightning

I've got vague recollections of watching footy with snow on the pitch but the penalty boxes having been cleared before the game. Guess we're spoiled with under soil heating now....
Pitches were often dodgy until fairly recently. Man Utd relaid Old Trafford 18 times between 93-03! Good article from the Athletic on why top pitches are fine now

On the bench today.
Circa 2011 in December snowed so bad that Marvin emnes run the ball out of play down the by line as the line has disappeared in the snow coming down. Must have been a 4 figure crowd that day

I remember a game in the late 80s early 90s at Ayersome where we were chanting to the south stand for an update because the fog came in so thick we couldn’t see what was happening at the other end…
At least that’s what my memory tells me but it could be a romanticised version of a foggy game
