Morgan Rogers

Remember when people wanted to "drive him to Villa Park for £8m" and "he wouldn't get in our team when everyone was fit" ?

Now he's starting games for the team that currently occupy the Champion's League spot in the Premier League.

I'm guessing the same clowns who came out with the above didn't rate Marcus Tavernier either

Yesterday was his third consecutive league start for a team 4th in the Premier League.
They do have a fair few injuries amongst the forward players which has helped with getting him minutes on the pitch. Glad to see him doing well though. Still gutted we didn't get more than 6mths from him. Would have been great to watch him develop in a Boro shirt

I never really gave an opinion either way about how successful he'd be at Villa. I just said if he's good enough he'll get chances and it'll be up to him to take them.
He's getting his chances and has made a really positive start and playing with confidence so no doubt will continue to get game time. I'm pleased for him.

It's a bit early to say he's good enough for City like :ROFLMAO: . He's very much in the unproven at PL level category.

By the same formula people are writing off Luke Thomas etc.

I think we had villas pants down with the price paid tbh.

Not in the current market we didn't. Was a standout player for the England U21s in their recent games, there's probably not a player in that squad you could currently buy for less than £25 million. Madness but that's how it is.
But we did only pay a million for him in July so we did ok!

Far too early to start claiming we/Villa have got the better end of the deal yet. He's played a handful of matches. Give it 18 months and see where his career is at. Will be a Champion League winner according to a few on here.

I remember this meltdown over Traore and his career has turned out to be pretty underwhelming. We definitely got the better end of that £18mil deal.

Rogers is a far superior player to Adama.

Hopefully he does brilliantly. The more he plays the more likely we are to get all of these 'achievable add-ons'

If he goes beyond that then maybe the sell-on clause comes up again too.

Yeah, apologies. My mistake. I’d looked at his stats and seen it was his first full 90 mins and the two previous were 60 minutes on the pitch. I should have written full game, not start. 3 starts is good going.

His starting may also be down to Villa having a few injuries but I hope it’s purely on merit, we want that extra£!!!

I agree that he hasn't proven anything yet, though I think he will in time. It was more a comment on the madness of transfer fees in relation to what Villa paid, especially when a player is young and English.
Also Traores actually been pretty good recently for Fulham!

Pleased for him👍

Always seemed a decent lad. He never wanted away. Just one of those out of the blue moves.

Although the more I see how he's adapting you start to think maybe sold too cheap.
